The side pressure strength, also called the vertical compressive strength, is to apply pressure to the corrugated cardboard samples in the vertical direction. The maximum force the cardboard can withstand during the pressure application is the side pressure strength of the carton. The compressive strength of the carton mainly depends on the paperboard side pressure strength, while the side pressure strength is related to the transverse crushing strength of the layers of the base paper which constitutes the corrugated cardboard, the plywood type combination of the paperboard and the adhesive strength of the paperboard.

The test requires the use of a cardboard carton edge press strength tester, a flat press strength tester, a bond strength tester, and a ring press strength tester. Corrugated board waveform is divided into U -shaped, V -shaped and UV -shaped three. U -shaped top peak arc radius is larger, arc-shaped, such as B楞, C楞; V -shaped peak radius is small, and sharp, such as A楞; UV type in between the two, such as AB楞.

According to tests, the V -shaped rake is less skewed at the initial stage of compression, but it quickly breaks when it exceeds the highest point, while the U -shaped rake absorbs higher energy. When the pressure is eliminated, it can still be restored to its original shape, but it is flexible. The compressive strength is not high. In addition, the V -shaped crucible saves corrugated paper and has less adhesive consumption, but it is prone to high and low defects during processing, and the corrugating roll wears quickly. UV -shaped crucibles are a combination of U -shaped and V -shaped features, which are currently widely used.

The general A- carton has the highest compressive strength, but is vulnerable to damage. The B- watt has poor strength but good stability. The C -waft is centered against pressure and stability.

A corrugated lining has better shock-proof cushioning, and the vertical compressive strength is also higher; B corrugated fulcrum tip is more pointed, adhesive surface is narrow, and its corrugated height is small, corrugated base paper can be saved, and its plane pressure resistance exceeds Type A corrugated, B corrugated medium has a larger number of corrugations per unit length, and has more supporting points with the face paper, so it is not easily deformed and the surface is flat.

When printing, it has strong compressive ability and good printing effect. Corrugated C combines the characteristics of A and B corrugations. Its seismic performance is similar to that of A corrugated, and its flat compressive strength is close to B corrugated. E Corrugated is the finest kind of corrugated medium, with the largest number of corrugated irons per unit length, capable of withstanding large plane pressures, adapting to offset printing needs, and printing high-quality graphics on the packaging surface. And cardboard strength is about the same.

It is also crucial to choose the right type according to the type of carton.

In people's consciousness, it is often believed that the larger the carcass type is, the higher the compressive strength of the carton is, and it is easy to overlook the influence of the carp type on the amount of deformation. The larger the carcass type, the greater the compressive strength of the carton and the greater the amount of deformation; the smaller the carp type, the lower the compressive strength of the carton and the smaller the amount of deformation. If the carton is too large, the carp type is very small, and the carton is easily crushed during the compression test; the carton is too small, the carp type is large, and the deformation is excessively large during the compression test, and the buffering process is long and effective. The force value deviates too much from the final force value.
